At the new headquarters of Imagine Communications in Frisco, Texas, IA designed a workplace with an “exec tech” aesthetic with extensive integrated custom graphics to physically reinforce the company’s brand. “The ‘exec tech’ design approach showcases Imagine’s own technology through contemporary features and finishes that reinforce its fun, collaborative culture,” says Frances Bruns, managing director of IA’s office in Dallas. The design project was born from a merger with Harris Broadcasting so the new, physical environment helps unify operations under the Imagine brand.

Imagine’s 22,000-square-foot office space is divided into open work zones, private offices, conference rooms, think tanks, and a café. A central elevator bank is flanked by private, glass-fronted offices. Open work space, collaborative lounges, and amenities ring the floor plate perimeter for democratic access to natural light and views.

Breakout lounge spaces, branded as Think Tanks, were designed for intellectual stimulation. Each non-schedulable room is uniformly identified with neutral, high-pile carpet that stands out against flooring in other group zones. Custom light fixtures and a variety of power-integrated seating support work surfaces and collaboration among team members.

The reception area greets visitors with a coffee house vibe and, through integrated environmental graphics, educates visitors about Imagine’s products and services. “One of my favorite spaces here is the library, Café Nervosa,” Bruns says. “It’s a small space but it’s very inviting and I always gravitate toward it when I visit.”
