The Unexpected

During the last 35 years, creating business environments for major enterprises around the world has intrinsically linked IA Interior Architects with innovative corporate design. However, the extremely flexible expertise of our design professionals often extends beyond the scope of corporate interiors to establish itself in new markets or for the challenge of a change of pace. Here are a few IA projects that might surprise you.

The number one rated escape room in Charlotte, North Carolina, is Escape Tactic. Can you find your way out of the mummy’s tomb, a dense jungle, or an airplane with no exit? After numerous preliminary reviews with local code officials, design professionals, and owners we know every aspect of this intriguing project.

Need serious hydration, something bottled water can’t provide? ONUS IV Hydration Treatment Clinic in Denver, CO, is just the ticket for rehydrating with essential minerals and electrolytes or to address a specific condition like flu, headache, jetlag, hangover, or something more serious. As the company's first-ever stand-alone clinic, this project delivers a relaxing environment and sets the design aesthetic and palette (neutral earth tones and the brand’s shade of electric green) for future locations.

In Concord, NC, The Percantile and Creamery serves tantalizing ice cream, as well artisan brewed coffees, teas, and wine, and a surprising menu with a range of choices from breakfast to soups, sandwiches, and desserts. A fun décor with a nostalgic vibe celebrates a page from the past circa 1900 and includes a faux-tin ceiling, classic vintage-model Ford, and an anonymous damsel gracing the wall. The inclusion of a play area for kids makes it an appealing venue for the whole family.

At the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Culinary Test Kitchen in Denver, CO, recipes are developed and tested by professional chefs, dieticians, influencers, and food bloggers on residential-grade ranges that replicate cooking temperatures and preparation methods typical of home-cooked meals. As part of the association’s Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner agenda, and with an increasing number of participating food bloggers sharing their photos on social media, a more camera-friendly kitchen was needed. IA’s design incorporates a subway-tile backsplash, quartz countertops, new cabinetry painted cozy blue, and metal-branded wood signage for a more efficient and photogenic kitchen.

A beer garden and a chicken coop are all part of the experience at INTERSECT in Orange County, CA. Here indoor and outdoor are blurred for a like-minded community of tenants. They enjoy a work-life balance driven by a design strategy focused on wellness that permeates all aspects of the infrastructure and landscape. The amenity-rich 15-acre urban campus includes walking and biking trails, multiple sports, recreational, and fitness facilities, an urban garden yielding fresh fruits and vegetables for tenants, restaurants focused on organic fare, and spaces for socializing, as well as picnic tables and a farmers’ market that attracts the community.

How about a dip? In Southern California, Bay Design Group makes prototypes for bathing suit brands at its new offices in Anaheim. Production and fitting areas, as well as a showroom and office space are all part of the design. In a work environment drenched in natural light, ease of access to materials is essential for production.

And with the increased popularity of game rooms and fitness/sports facilities as part of the work environment, we’ve become experts in designing bowling alleys and other amenities for many of our clients.
